it is a beautiful sunday!!
woohooo!!
Why???
cos.. it is my boyfriend's off day (in every 2 weeks)
.
.
we planned a short roadtrip.
a 1-day roadtrip to somewhere not too near.. and yet.. not too far.
we decided it to be BATU PAHAT.
.
.
got some recommendations from friends.
and.. we headed to BATU PAHAT!!
.
.
.
we had breakfast with his family that morning.
went back to his house to shower.
then,
we made our way to Batu Pahat.
by the highway.
=)
GPS leads the way to Batu Pahat...
a new addition to the family is the clock.
previously, the time could be checked by looking at the radio/player.
however, after boyfriend changed the radio/player to the DVD player,
we werent able to check the time and we lived with it.

.
he brought the car for servicing that day and saw this clock that looked pretty and so he bought it.
=)
ON OUR WAY!!!!
in the car... heading for the highway...
driver for the day... =)
made a short stop at the petrol kiosk to top-up LaoHei.
as well as buying a drink!!
i always love to do that.
buy something from the petrol kiosk.
especially coffee.
HAHA.

then, we made our way to BATU PAHAT lorz!!!!
.
.
after the highway,
we had to use a bit of the OLD road too.
the OLD road looks like this.
reached BATU PAHAT!!!
our first stop was actually the batu pahat "palace".
we thought we could take some photos and have a walk there.
however,
the place was closed.
.
.
anyway, the weather was "BURNING" hot that day.
it was good news that we werent able to get down.
say bye bye to the palace and we head to our first shopping mall.
THE SUMMIT, Batu Pahat!!!
found my long-lost "snow-ice" there.
the chocolate flavoured "snow-ice"!

we actually had this very YUMMY ban-mian in the mall for lunch too.
however, strange enough, photography was not allowed and therefore we were unable to take photos of the ban-mian.
we ordered a bowl to share initially.
it was so nice we decided to have another bowl.
=)

Summit actually is something like our JB holiday plaza.
it might even look even worn out than holiday plaza.
however, the place definitely had more crowd than our holiday plaza.
they had more shops selling guys stuffs as well.
boyfriend commented that he can visit batu pahat to buy his new year clothes next year.

after shopping mall number 1.
it was time for us to 摸鱼!!!!
.
.
temple visits were included in our itinerary.
one of the recommendations from our friends were to go batu pahat and 摸鱼.
loook at al the tourist buses when we reached Temple no. 1.
.
.
i was really surprised when i saw the number of tourist buses!!!
.
.
as instructed by the temple helpers, we were suppose to wash our hands.
then get the incense and pay our respects to the "比丘"
比丘 was right at the entrance of the temple.
all the tourist that were entering the temple will surely get their hands on the 比丘 to get the LUCK!!!

a bridge... believed to change people's luck for the better????
a well at the center of the temple.
a lot of people used the water from the well to wash their hands and feets.
we did that toooo!

the well which attracted alot of the patrons to wash their hands, face, feet.
there was a sign on the well that tells people that they can use the water to wash the car plate tooo!

the temple has got a lot of nice stuffs actually.
everything was very well maintained.
it should be...
the colours are amazing...
boyfriend loves looking at temples tooo...
he was amazed that people in batu pahat can up-keep a temple like this. so nice!!!!
this is another dragon brother that has the body of a turtle.
i forgot the name of this.

at this point of time,
i asked boyfriend, "i thought we were suppose to 摸鱼???"

we suspected that we might have visited the wrong temple.
so we went to ask the uncle outside, whom was maintaining the traffic for the tourist buses.

indeed... we came to the wrong temple.
.
.
he taught boyfriend the way to the temple.
.
.
we got on the car and headed to the next temple.
determined to 摸鱼.
.
.
we did lose our way a bit.
there were many temples!!!!
i was telling boyfriend that, the land was well-loved by the deities.
there were really a lot of temples!!!!
.
.
boyfriend went to ask another temple and this time,
he got a clearer picture of where the 摸鱼temple was.
he brought his GPS down to discuss and to get the directions right so that we can get to the temple successfully.
.
.
his efforts were not wasted!!
we FOUND IT!
.
.
it was quite ulu.
we had to pass by a chinese kampung and the roads are really really SMALL.
.
.
amazingly,
the tourist buses knew their way very well and were used to driving in the small place.
we had to park our car outside and we had to walk further into the place to see the temple.
.
.
the temple was situated beside the sea.
really nice sculptures they have there.
.
.
all those people were actually bending down so that they can 摸鱼!!!!

everybody were stretching and calling out to the fishes to come closer so that they can touch the fishes.
his last attempt to touch the fish from head to tail...
YAY!!!! he made it!!!!

while we took this picture, we saw a bunch of people up a staircase.
the place seems packed.

we wanted to ignore and just leave.
.

however, our curiosity got the better of us and so we went up the staircase, wanting to find out what was the commotion about.
it was an even BIGGER FISH!!!!!!
had red scales on its body!!!!!
look at how big it was!!!!
this was really BIG!!!!

this pond was not as accessible as the one that was outside.
it only had a few holes beside the pond.
each hole can only fit one human being.
.
.
i was standing on a bridge that was built over the pond.
those standing on the bridge with me couldnt reach the fish at all.
therefore, to touch the fish, u really have to get down there and fight it out to get your head thru the hole so that u get a chance to touch the fish from head to tail.
those that had already touched the fish should give way to others so that everybody can get a chance to touch the fish.

if we hadnt went up to "busybody",

it is the Batu Pahat Mall...!!!
we had a short walk there.
a lot of shops on the upper floor were still empty.
seems like the business there isnt as good as Summit.

we left after finishing the walk at the mall and we headed back to JB for Dinner.
we were not hungry and so we decided that we can wait till we get back to JB to have dinner.
we went to the restaurant at Gelang Patah!!!!
HAPPY!!
i recommended the 粿条大杂烩 to him and he simply loved it!!
it was very YUMMY lor!!!
we ordered the chicken wing toooo!
the famous chicken wing..!!!!

had a good dinner.
so happy!
wasnt somewhere classy.
perhaps things were simpler for us.

we had a roadtrip together.
we had a spendid dinner together.
that was enough for me already.

what more can i ask for???

we will have another KL trip coming up tooo.
that will be our roadtrip cum anniversary part II.
just that, we will have some friends going together tooo!
very rare to have... we have ahliew coming with us for the roadtrip!!!!
