8th August 2009... Saturday...
A long weekend because of he national day holiday in Singapore. I woke up and went for a jog at the Austin Heights park! what an achievement!! wahahaa...
then as we went out to grab our brunch, we (Mummy, MeiMei and myself) were discussing going where to eat and I, came up with a brilliant idea. Why not we bring mum back to her hometown and have our lunch there???
So... We went to KLUANG together!
Roadtrip to Mum's hometown to eat!!!! woohooo~~

of course, we need to go to mummy's favourite childhood food and we liked it very much tooo! Something that we can only get it in Kluang.
We went to mummy's fav Niang Tou Fu at Kluang.
look at the pot full of choices.this is the style of this Kluang Food stall.
you choose your pieces of 'Niang Tou Fu' from the huge pot with all the choices inside.
The soup is really-really nice!
very very very nice!
i cannot get this kind of taste from anywhere else.
it gives us the "HOMEY" feeling that we will get whenever we eat this 'Niang Tou Fu'.
the soup is so...... clear... so nice..... so...... 'sweet'.
and it is really cheap!!!!

my portion. i knew we had a few more stops to make and i am trying to make myself eat lesser so i didnt eat much.
She, forever 'BIG-EATER'.she had soup without the noodles.

Mum with her HUGE bowl of soup and her noodles. she can never control herself when she comes to Kluang.
at the same time, i am so happy that i can bring her to her hometown for a meal or 2 before we head back home again.

so we had our BRUNCH at the 'Niang tou fu', then we proceeded to the famous shop to buy the sweet and salted 'TAU SA PIA'.
they sell those "piggy" cookies which sis loves...***
so we bought a few packet of the "TAU SA PIA" home and i bought a few for my office and Gong's family as well.
after buying some local food stuffs from the famous shop, we went to a "GARDEN" nearby. Mum always calls this places - GARDEN.
actually, it is just a place where it sells plants and soil, whatever necessary for a GArden at home.

as mum busy herself as she was spoilt with choices,
we kept ourselves busy with taking photos....

after 'Shopping' at the GARDEN, we went for our dessert before heading back home.
dessert is at a shop in Kluang which AhLiew found.
it is a shop selling food from Melaka.
heard that the Cendol is not bad.
Indeed, the cendol was quite similar to the ones we had at Melaka but of course, not as good as those that we had in Melaka. however, really not bad.
will be a good place to go if you want to have cendol in Melaka style and without the hassle of driving all the way to Melaka.

so after the dessert, we went back home.
Mum and MeiMei both slept in the car.
it was one of the rare chances that i think it was quite a well-planned and well-managed roadtrip as we were back home in time for mummy to make Dinner.

Lucky thing that she cooked it in a slow cooker.
so we were in a peace of mind even if we went all the way to Kluang for a one day trip.

really happy that i can bring mummy to her hometown
we should do that more often because.. the joy that you see mummy eating her favourite hometown food, you cannot get that anywhere else.
since Kluang is not that far also.
just an hour drive from on the highway.
i can do that!!
